Graydon Carter, the 63-year-old editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair, is currently negotiating a new contract with Condé Nast. According to The New York Post, the main hold-up to getting the deal done is that Carter’s lawyer — Allan Grubman — is pushing for a signing bonus and a raise for Carter.

The other issue at hand is that Carter isn’t sure how much longer he wants to stay at Vanity Fair. He has already been the editor of the magazine for 21 years, so you can hardly blame him. Carter also has other interests, such his overseeing his popular restaurants and producing films.

Charles Townsend, Condé’s CEO, told the Post that all is well and “There are no plans for anyone to succeed Graydon at Vanity Fair.” Which means, of course, it’s time to guess who is succeeding Carter at Vanity Fair! Below are some names that have been circulated:

For those of you who decide who to vote for based on newspaper endorsements, The New York Observer is officially in Mitt Romney‘s corner:

 About 83.4 percent of the time, The New Yorker’s cartoons aren’t funny. Yet despite that, it’s difficult to find something wrong with them, because they’re odd and vaguely interesting. Facebook, however, has little trouble picking something upsetting about New Yorker cartoons: Nipples. The New Yorker’s cartoon page on Facebook was temporarily banned from the site because a cartoon featuring tiny nipple’s on a woman’s body violated Facebook’s community standards.

As The New Yorker notes, it wasn’t the man’s nipples that got it banned; male nipples, according to Facebook, are fine. Something called “female nipple bulges” and female nipples, are not.

Please take this into consideration the next time you’re posting pictures from a party. If The New Yorker can get banned for cartoon nipples, anything can happen.
