Dumb, Drunk and Racist

Dumb, Drunk and Racist – Joe Hildebrand, writer for the Daily Telegraph in Sydney, has a new TV show coming up on Australian TV, called “Dumb, Drunk and Racist”, which was the phrase famously used during a training session in an Indian call centre about Australians. The show features four Indians from varying backgrounds visiting Australia – looks like very uncomfortable viewing (if you’re Australian). (Slightly NSFW because of drunken boob-showing).

Greeks Debate Anti-Austerity

Greece’s radical left party has upended the country’s politics with an idea as simple as it is seductive: Athens can renege on the deals it made in exchange for a bailout, and still remain in the euro.

Romney Won’t Speak to Donald Trump’s Assertion That Obama Was Born in Kenya [Election 2012]

Romney Won't Speak to Donald Trump's Assertion That Obama Was Born in Kenya Tonight Mitt Romney said that he doesn’t agree with all of his supporters, but he still appreciates their help in his eventual victory. The elephant in the room is that one of his loudest (and richest) supporters, Donald Trump, is once again spouting his birther nonsense about President Obama.

Recently Trump again insisted that Obama was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia, despite the fact that Obama answered Trump’s previous accusations with his long-form Hawaiian birth certificate. That was over a year ago, so it’s possible Trump has forgotten. Or he may — like so many other conspiracy theorists — believe Obama’s birth certificate is an elaborate con.

Either way, Romney refused to address that particular claim, nearly a day before he appears at a Trump-hosted fundraised in Las Vegas. Perhaps the vague acknowledgment that he doesn’t agree with the opinions of everyone who supports him is enough of a rebuttal.

Low-Level Radiation Seen in Tuna

Low levels of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power plant have been detected in tuna caught off the coast of California, researchers reported on Monday.

The fish would have been young and living in waters near Japan at the time of the accident last year, judging by their size and known migration patterns, Reuters reports.

“It’s become clear that some people feel that any amount of radioactivity, in their minds, is bad and they’d like to avoid it,” Reuters quotes Madigan as saying. “But compared to what’s there naturally … and what’s established as safety limits, it’s not a large amount at all.”
