It was one thing when CBS videoed Mayor Bill "Vision Zero" de Blasio’s motorcade speeding and rolling through stops. But the New York Post now has the goods to nail its archenemy to the wall for good. Hang onto your monocles: They caught de Blasio jaywalking! As the mayor and his team set off on "his morning jaywalk" from his Park Slope house to the YMCA, "they were in the crosswalk but were jaywalking because they did not have the light." The horror! Anyway, that’s the end of this administration. We’re just glad he’s the only person in the city reckless enough to risk his life like that.

Ted Nugent isn’t big on apologies (unless he screwed up hunting), so when he issued one Friday for his recent offensive language calling President Barack Obama a "subhuman mongrel," it was notable. But Nugent wasn’t apologizing to Obama, or to people offended by the racist language; he was apologizing to the Republican politicians whose reputations his comments damaged, such as Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, for whom he’s been campaigning. And he was apologizing for just being too real.
"I do apologize – not necessarily to the president – but on behalf of much better men than myself," Nugent told conservative radio host Ben Ferguson. Heb said he was sorry "for using the street-fighter terminology of ‘subhuman mongrel’ instead of just using more understandable language, such as ‘violator of his own — the Constitution.’" And he plans to do better. "I will try to elevate my vernacular to the level of those great men that I’m learning from in the world of politics."
While Nugent’s Texas Republican pals didn’t seem to mind the comments so much ("that’s just Ted," Governor Rick Perry told the Dallas Morning News), another Republican from Kentucky, Senator Rand Paul, called on him to apologize. Somehow, we’re guessing this isn’t exactly what Paul meant.

Look at #euromaidan – before and now (photo via KievWatch) #EPPKrakow http://ift.tt/1gS0jFZ — Róża Thun (@rozathun) February 20, 2014 Alexander Motyl doubts the government will allow it to happen: Personally, I have no doubt that Ukraine without its southeast would be much stronger, more stable, and more prosperous than Ukraine with its southeast. Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro is threatening to expel CNN from the country, calling the network’s coverage of deadly political protests “war propaganda,†Reuters reports:
Local television networks have provided almost no live coverage of the protests against Maduro, which began last month over a wide range of complaints including inflation, violent crime, corruption and shortages of basic products. As result, many opposition supporters have turned to CNN Espanol, available to some cable TV subscribers, which in recent days has been the only television to offer live broadcasts of opposition press conferences.
“I’ve asked the (information) minister to tell CNN we have started the administrative process to remove them from Venezuela if they don’t rectify (their behavior),†Maduro said on state TV. “Enough! I won’t accept war propaganda against Venezuela.â€
A Colombia-based cable news channel, NTN24, was removed from Venezuelan cable lineups last week. NTN24 is one of several networks that provides programming to MundoFox, 21st Century Fox’s Spanish-language broadcast network. Meanwhile, Fusion’s Mariana Atencio continues to report from Caracas for the ABC/Univision newschannel.

Take a silly candid behind-the-scenes shot from the set of a beloved movie and post it online and you’re bound to get lots of likes, but if it’s a photo of Mark Hamill making a goofy face while dressed like Luke Skywalker on the set of Star Wars, and that picture is posted to Reddit with an accompanying Photoshop challenge then you’re bound to get lots of hilarious submissions!
Derpy Luke Skywalker can be seen swimming with the dolphins, using the Force to create rainbows from the palms of his hands, and generally act in a manner considered quite unbecoming by the noble Jedi Council.
