Man killed by bear in Alaska was a San Diego photographer

Richard White, 49, who was mauled to death Friday, was the first person to die in a bear attack in the history of Denali National Park, authorities say. Photos of the bear that mauled him were found in his camera.

A man killed by a grizzly bear in Alaska’s Denali National Park last week was identified Sunday as a 49-year-old San Diego photographer, who had been taking pictures of the animal for at least seven to eight minutes before the attack, park officials said.

Jimmy Fallon, Oscar host? Not so fast — talks have stalled

Jimmy Fallon may no longer be in negotiations to host the 2013 Oscars, but Lorne Michaels could still produce the Academy Awards telecast.

Despite last-minute maneuvering by outgoing Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak, “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon is no longer in talks to host next year’s Oscars telecast, according to sources close to the situation who were not authorized to speak publicly. But his boss, “Saturday Night Live” executive producer Lorne Michaels, may still be in the running to produce the demographically challenged awards show.

MOCA trustees letter says the museum will hire a chief curator
