AG Holder Will Stay Into Obama’s Second Term

Attorney General Eric Holder will remain in his post going into President Obama’s second term, but only for about a year, Fox News reports.

Honoring the president’s request to stay with the administration, and preventing a mass exodus of political appointees, Holder will stay in the position, which has often come under fire by conservatives for cases such as the botched gun running program known as Fast and Furious.

Some names that have surfaced to replace Holder include Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Fox News reported.

Taliban Threaten to Kill Britain’s Prince Harry

Just days after the British Crown announced that Prince Harry was headed to Afghanistan to man helicopters for four months, the Taliban announced that it would do everything in its power to kidnap or kill the 27-year-old prince, Reuters reports.

“We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told Reuters.

Queen Elizabeth’s grandson, known as “Captain Wales” in the military, is stationed in the volatile Helmand province, at the forefront of NATO’s fight against the Taliban.

Poll: Americans Favor Obama’s Immigration Policy 2-to-1

By a two-to-one margin, Americans favor the Obama administration’s new immigration policy, according to a Bloomberg poll released on Tuesday.

The results, which show that 64 percent of Americans agreed with the policy announced on June 15, suggest that the president has reinforced his standing on immigration, an issue that Romney and Republicans have tried to make gains in recently. Just 30 percent said they disagreed with the policy.

“President Obama announced that the U.S. would halt the deportation of some illegal immigrants if they came here before age 16, have been in the country for five years, have no criminal record, are in school or have a high school diploma or have been honorably discharged from the military. Do you agree or disagree with this new policy?” the poll asked.
