Senior administration officials <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/11\/13\/us\/politics\/top-candidates-to-replace-clinton-at-state-dept-may-face-hurdles.html?partner=rss&amp;emc=rss\">tell<\/a> the New York <i>Times<\/i> that John Kerry and Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, are the two frontrunners, but things aren&#8217;t looking good for the Massachusetts senator. If Obama picks Rice he&#8217;ll have to battle with congressional Republicans, who have targeted Rice in their criticism of the response to the Benghazi attack, yet the Washington <i>Post<\/i> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/obama-considers-john-kerry-for-job-of-defense-secretary\/2012\/11\/12\/8a0e973a-2d02-11e2-a99d-5c4203af7b7a_story.html\">reports<\/a> that the nomination will still &#8220;almost certainly go&#8221; to Rice.
